Jun 18, 2026"Dining at Osteria di Cardinale made us feel like we were in a romantic Hollywood movie of the golden age. The ambience and music were perfectly matched and nostalgic. Service was thoughtful and personal but also casual and friendly while remaining very professional and elegant. Axel attended to everyone like an old friend offering outstanding, local, artisanal wine varieties and switching between 4 languages. When my wife declined wine, he immediately offered a delicious non alcoholic option that was already at the ready. Eva-Maria’s food is a labor of love. Based on fresh, seasonal, local ingredients it feels like a beautiful concert expertly combining revisited traditional preparations with classics and modern notes. Overall it was an unforgettable evening which filled our hearts and souls with the same care and love that delighted our palates. Axel and Eva-Maria are truly remarkable professionals and human beings who chose Italy to be their home. With their knowledge, work and way of life they honor and elevate some of the most precious local traditions and ingredients that many Italians either forgot or were never fortunate enough to experience. It is a privilege to see the beauty of my own country through their eyes."
